Every year the New York City Marathon not only attracts some of the biggest names in distance running, but also some of the biggest names in pop culture. On Oct. 24, the New York Road Runners (NYRR) announced its celebrity lineup for the TCS New York City Marathon on Nov. 6.
NYRR has described this year’s celebrity field as one of their deepest to date, headlined by Ashton Kutcher, who will make his marathon debut running in support of his charity, Thorn, a non-profit dedicated to protecting children from online sexual abuse. Satam Positive Flowmeter
Ellie Kemper, who is known for her role as Erin Hannon in The Office, will also be running in her first New York City Marathon with the aim to raise funds for The Brotherhood Sister Sol, which offers support programs for Black and Latino youth in economically distressed communities.
Other celebrities on the start list are actresses Claire Holt from The Vampire Diaries and Lauren Ridloff of The Walking Dead.
Producer and host of the popular MTV show Catfish: Nev Schulman will run in his sixth New York City Marathon, holding a personal best time of 3:25. Once again, contestants from the hit reality TV show The Bachelor will be well represented in NYC with Matt James and Zac Clark running the marathon for the third year.
New York Giants former running back Tiki Barber will continue his streak, returning his eighth consecutive New York City Marathon.
